Hi Resilient Sunshine! Has your local store already started putting advent calendars on the shelves and testing the festive playlist? As much as most people think it's insane, I can't help but love this end of the year season... WAIT! Here me out... It's a lot to do with loving gatherings and get togethers, moments shared with people around the same intention: good food, good company, festivities, and true connections. With or without family (a community doesn't always need to be tied by blood), we nurture our belonging through these moments. Last month's Grit Makers episode reminded us the importance of holding onto our humanity which is exactly what these moments are for! Don't expect yourself from others.Society is strange, parts of us want to be unique, and the other part want to belong and fit in so much. Fact? Every individual has their own set of values and differences, so when it comes to managing the unexpected, how differently people react and behave is an important one to make peace with when it comes to human resilience. Entrepreneurs In Resilience had an important component in common with many other episodes: the importance of finding your tribe through multiple cultural differences. A tribe with similar values. Likeminded people. A marketer, business development professional in sustainability and an operational resilience expert all agreed on the below:
Change alone can be a burden, but when you change together as a group it is much easier! We're doing this together! As this recurring theme across the two seasons of the pod is really anchored in the power of community, I'm co-hosting another women's workshop on Survival and how to rewrite our trauma's script. This Sunday at 9AM UK Time, Jade, yogi and trauma therapist, is joining me for the "Are you in Survival mode" masterclass where we don't talk AT YOU but share WITH YOU through interactive storytelling and exercises. Register here and bring yourself, a pen and paper and log online for this FREE session. Our intention is for you to leave a little more at peace and re-centred than when you join :) But who's YOU?You might be familiar with the term boundaries, and how critical they can be to keep your sanity. But how clear are you about your values? For me, understanding the importance of communication, a growth mindset and loyalty in all areas of life has helped me so much to prioritise the directions I'm taking. Building your personal brand, weather you're a solopreneur, full blow business owner, or looking for the next opportunity in your career is essential. Sending a CV or a prospection email doesn't suffice anymore! I got two of my favourite strategic branding experts to join me for a deep chat on the resilience it takes to build a YOU brand. Don't be shy, register here, prep your questions and come ask them live! See you on: November 27th at 9.45AM UK Time. With Love and Resilience, Are you in survival mode? Take the quiz and find out! |
I walked away from a 6-figure startup career to prove one thing: you can build success without self-destruction. Hi Resilient Sunshine, You're done surviving. But there's a messy middle between "ready for change" and "acting on it". We don't talk enough about that although it is the most important part of the journey. That famous "enjoy the journey, not the destination"? Well, this messy middle is it! You don't always need a Plan B The latest episode with Alex was poignant. For her, change was about the real survival. "It just came to a state when couldn't live like that anymore". She shared not only...
Hi Resilient Sunshine, We tend to think of breakups as romantic endings. But the hardest breakup you’ll ever go through? It might not be with a person. It might be with a job that’s slowly draining you. A city that never felt like home. An identity you outgrew years ago. Or a version of yourself you created just to keep other people comfortable... and you know what? You're allowed to leave! When Life Knocks You Down (More Than Once) I recently sat down with Pacharee who has survived what most...
Hey Sunshine! "Community is essential. But if you hand over the keys to your joy, you'll starve." I spent an afternoon with Simon, my second 1-2-1 interview for the pod. He's lived more lives than most of us will in three: raised by women in times none of us can recall about London, he embraced a career change from operations and management to become a therapist when people usually go for retirement. I went in expecting to ask him about resilience and career changes. What I left with was...
