Don't burn the house down yet. Try this instead.

Hi Resilient Sunshine!

Can you take more of the Back To School mundanities? I know I was done before it even started... so this month's update is short and to the point.

September, for me, is the occasion my birthday was forgotten in favour of class-books shopping...yikes. So I'm celebrating differently now ;)

Turning 35, I've set myself the challenge to shake off bad vibes and publish a new meditation track per day for 35 days. This can give you the opportunity to join me for a mindful moment as well!

Let's be real about the pressure to "relax" when nothing goes to plan. We try to force mindfulness as this peace and quiet whilst our lives are going 1000 miles per hour out there. So this meditation gives us a break in the middle of chaos:

August was a strange month. Full of promises of positive transformations that have yet to happen... Although this is settling now, here's some of the tools that helped me regulate my nervous system:

  • EFT Tapping to self-regulate when overwhelmed
  • Inner Child Meditations to understand my triggers
  • Mobility exercises to improve joints stability
  • Breath-work to avoid cracking open a pack of cigarettes

When there’s chaos around us and within us, it is tempted to burn the entire house down. By taking time to create space for our emotions to be expressed, we can learn to find peace and focus.

Hot take from the last few weeks of summer:

Change is the only constant in our life, so why not adjust our tools to our needs on the go?

  1. What is the routine that truly opens up your creativity?
  2. How frequently do you skip what nourishes you in favour of something more "urgent"?
  3. What are the key values that rule your life and your day-to-day which help you prioritise?

It is very tempting to get complaisant with what we have, and think we've already figured what works and what doesn't. But in business and in life, innovation is the key to improvement.

Constant testing and iteration makes for progress, in R&D and in your own wellbeing. What served you yesterday might not be what will get future you to where you need to get to.

Hi Resilient Sunshine, You're done surviving. But there's a messy middle between "ready for change" and "acting on it". We don't talk enough about that although it is the most important part of the journey. That famous "enjoy the journey, not the destination"? Well, this messy middle is it! You don't always need a Plan B The latest episode with Alex was poignant. For her, change was about the real survival. "It just came to a state when couldn't live like that anymore". She shared not only...

Hi Resilient Sunshine, We tend to think of breakups as romantic endings. But the hardest breakup you’ll ever go through? It might not be with a person. It might be with a job that’s slowly draining you. A city that never felt like home. An identity you outgrew years ago. Or a version of yourself you created just to keep other people comfortable... and you know what? You're allowed to leave! When Life Knocks You Down (More Than Once) I recently sat down with Pacharee who has survived what most...

Big Life Changes: how the worst leads to your best

Hey Sunshine! "Community is essential. But if you hand over the keys to your joy, you'll starve." I spent an afternoon with Simon, my second 1-2-1 interview for the pod. He's lived more lives than most of us will in three: raised by women in times none of us can recall about London, he embraced a career change from operations and management to become a therapist when people usually go for retirement. I went in expecting to ask him about resilience and career changes. What I left with was...
